Mandi Lee - Lead Vocals and Guitar
Mandi Lee, born and raised in Cambridge, ON, has wanted to be a singer for as long as she can remember. But it wasn't until Mandi's mom began listening to Faith Hill and Shania Twain that she began to enjoy country music. Once she heard Gretchen Wilson, country music became her genre of choice. This girl can belt out Gretchen songs like no one’s business!
In 1995, she was truly inspired by Jewel and started playing guitar and writing songs. Mandi was the 2006 KICX 106.7 Starquest Winner and the 2007 Oktoberfest Idol Winner. Also, in 2007 she won the Songwriters Competition at the Cambridge Fall Fair and opened up for the Road Hammers. Among all of Mandi's amazing achievements, one of which was playing alongside Aaron Lines at the Uptown Country Music Festival in 2007, she has gained the greatest experience by being the master of ceremonies at Nashville North in Norval, ON. She got to perform every weekend for huge crowds and the show was broadcast live on the internet.
Now, as the lead singer of Kerosene Creek, playing alongside the finest musicians in Ontario, who knows what else Mandi will be able to achieve.
John Hughes - Lead Vocals and Bass
Born and raised in Brantford, ON, John grew up listening to, of course like most of us, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard-the country greats. But it wasn’t until Dwight Yoakam came onto the scene that his passion for country music blossomed.
John got a late start, so to speak, being 20 years old before starting to play the bass, but listening to him play and sing you would never guess it. John has played with the Linda Lee Band, Peter Wild, Smokey Roads and even fronted his own band, Desperado, between 1990 – '95. Since ’95, he has opened for Thomas Wade and Wayward, Lighthouse, the Good Brothers and in 2008 opened for Rascal Flatts at Bayfest for a crowd of about 20,000 people.
Now you will find John playing with Kerosene Creek, making all the ladies wish he were singing just for them with that deep, sultry voice. There truly isn’t another bass player around like him.
